Inspired by traveling, I use paint and hand sewing to celebrate of the myriad experiences, landscapes, and cultures encountered along my journey.
Traveling opens our eyes to the beauty of both natural wonders and human-made marvels. From the awe-inspiring grandeur of mountains and oceans to the intricate details of bustling city streets and ancient architecture, each destination offers a unique tapestry of sights, sounds, and textures.
Paint, with its ability to capture the essence of colour, light, and mood, becomes a vehicle for translating these experiences onto the canvas.
Hand sewing, with its tactile quality and intimate touch, adds another layer of depth and dimension to the artwork. By incorporating thread, and stitches I infuse artworks with a sense of craftsmanship and texture, mirroring the complexity and diversity of the environments that inspire me.
Through this fusion of mediums, I create artworks that serve as visual narratives of travels—a tangible expression of the places I’ve been.
Since graduating with a Master of Fine Art at Monash University in Melbourne, Tarli has built a dynamic art practice experimenting with mixed media. She recently exhibited at The Other Art Fair at the 2025 Los Angeles edition and 2026 Chicago edition.
