Olga Zwart is a textile artist and founder of Loop LAB Studio whose practice centres on hand-tufted wool artworks that transform textile into sculptural wall pieces. Working with 100% New Zealand wool, Zwart creates tactile compositions that blur the line between textile, design and fine art.
Each work is carefully hand-tufted and gallery-wrapped over a frame, allowing the soft, dimensional surface of the wool to extend into space. The result is a richly textured artwork that invites both visual and physical engagement — pieces that feel as comforting and playful as they are visually striking.
Driven by the belief that creativity seeks expression in the physical world, Zwart uses wool as a medium to translate her ideas into form. The material’s softness introduces an additional sensory dimension beyond the visual, encouraging viewers to experience the work through touch as well as sight.
Through bold shapes, playful compositions and tactile surfaces, Zwart’s works bring warmth, joy and material richness into interior spaces. Her practice celebrates the emotional and sensory qualities of textile, creating artworks that are not only seen, but felt.
